BifrostTV Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy specifically explains how IGGDRASIL DOO ("we", "our", or "us") handles data and respects user privacy in connection with the BifrostTV media player application on Apple platforms, including Apple TV (tvOS).
1. Architectural Overview & Local Storage
BifrostTV is designed with a strict local-first architecture. The application operates primarily as a standalone client-side media player:
- No Account Required: Basic use of BifrostTV on tvOS does not require creating an account, registering an email address, or submitting identity credentials to IGGDRASIL DOO.
- User-Provided Content Sources: All playlist URLs (M3U/M3U8), electronic program guide feeds (XMLTV), and stream endpoints are configured directly by you and are stored locally on your device.
- Local Caching: Channel indexes, group definitions, and program schedules are cached locally on your device storage to provide fast navigation.
2. Security & Keychain Storage
- Parental PIN: If you configure a parental PIN to restrict content categories, the PIN hash is stored securely using Apple's platform security (tvOS Keychain) and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Trusted Device & Pairing Metadata: Cryptographic pairing metadata and local companion discovery keys used for Bifrost Receiver and local setup are generated and retained exclusively on your local devices.
3. Local Network & Bonjour Discovery
BifrostTV requests permission to access your Local Network (NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription). This local connectivity is used exclusively for:
- Hosting the temporary local web setup server so you can enter playlist links from a phone or computer browser on your home Wi-Fi.
- Zero-configuration network discovery (Bonjour / mDNS) to enable pairing between BifrostTV receivers and authorized local companion devices.
Local network discovery traffic remains strictly inside your private home network and is never broadcast over the public internet.
4. No Third-Party SDKs, Ads, or Behavioral Tracking
- No Advertising SDKs: BifrostTV contains zero third-party advertising SDKs or programmatic ad injection tools.
- No Commercial Analytics SDKs: We do not integrate commercial third-party behavioral analytics or data broker trackers (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Adjust, AppsFlyer).
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, playback habits, or media lists to any third parties.
5. External Media Streams & Third-Party Providers
BifrostTV does not host, distribute, or operate streaming servers. When you tune into a channel or media stream:
- Your device establishes a direct network connection to the third-party server hosting the stream URL you entered.
- The third-party hosting provider may receive your IP address and standard HTTP request headers as necessary to deliver the stream.
- Third-party providers operate under their own independent terms of service and privacy policies.
6. Apple Platform Information
If you download BifrostTV from the Apple App Store, Apple Inc. may collect anonymous diagnostic and aggregate download statistics in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. If you opt in to share crash diagnostics with app developers in your tvOS settings, Apple provides us with anonymized crash logs to help us resolve software bugs.
